These are the most common questions I get, no matter what type of session you're thinking of booking! If you didn't see an answer on the specific page, it's probably covered here (and if not, send me an email!).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide payment plans?

I totally get it! These days, people are choosing between a week's worth of groceries or family photos. We can absolutely work together to create a plan and make your session happen!

How is my gallery delivered?

Once I have culled and edited your session, I will send you an email with a link to your private gallery. This gallery is password protected and will only be available to you, unless you choose to share the session.

Whats your turn around time?

Previews with watermarks are available by email or on my Facebook business page (with permission) within a week of your session. Most final galleries are delivered within 2-4 weeks. Weddings are 6-8 weeks. Busy season (September-December) can affect these times.

Do you provide styling advice?

Absolutely! I want you to be comfortable during our session, but also looking your best. I provide a style guide for every session and can work with you to plan out everyone's outfit, if you want!

What types of specialty sessions do you book?

I offer themed mini sessions throughout the year, sometimes at local venues, such as sunflower fields!

I LOVE weddings and births, but due to the commitment involved, please contact me to discuss my availability.

Do you reschedule do to weather?

Unless it is -15 degrees outside (this includes the windchill) or pouring, I don't reschedule for imperfect weather. A bit of morning mist, some delicate flurries and a breeze creates extra movement and emotion to your images! Please prepare and dress everyone appropriately.

How many images do I get?

As a storyteller, I provide the full gallery of images from your session. Depending on the length of your session, this can be anywhere from 10-60+ images!

Do you retouch photos?

I believe in keeping my clients as natural as I see them in person - you are beautiful in your entirety. I only retouch superficial features such as blemishes, scratches, flyway's, etc. If you want me to remove a tattoo or beauty mark, we can discuss the work - a fee may apply depending on complexity and number of images. I will never change your body structure (Eg: making anything bigger/smaller, changing your facial shape, etc.)

How do I book with you?

I'm so happy you're considering sharing your memories with me! You can either fill out an inquiry on the contact page or send an email to heartwinkphotography@gmail.com. I usually respond within 24 hours and appreciate your patience! From there, we discuss your goals, budget, and if I'm the right fit. Once we settle on a date and time, I'll send over a contract and questionnaire - the non-refundable retainer must be paid within 24 hours of booking to reserve your spot!

How far out do you book?

Please note: I only have availability on weekends. Summer and fall are the busiest seasons and fill quick, so I suggest reaching out to book a few weeks in advance during this time. If you're wanting to book maternity, anytime after 30 weeks will provide the best memories of your baby bump. If you're currently pregnant and looking to book a newborn session, please reach out as soon as possible and let me know your due date!

What can I expect from my session?

All my sessions, including my minis, are lifestyle. This means I focus on real moments, emotions, and details. My questionnaire is designed to help me create prompts and setups that make naturally spark magic for you and your family. We always get the mantelpiece shot of everyone looking at the camera smiling and then have fun from there!
